Features of the Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium
The ground achieves a feeling of openness, excellent ventilation, and a sense of unity with the town through its unique shape. It is particularly open on its north side where the JR station is located; as a result, passengers on the shinkansen (bullet train) and other JR trains are able to enjoy the baseball from their carriage windows.
At the rear of the spectator seats on the stadium’s first floor is a wide, stepless concourse (circumference of about 600m, infield of 12m, and outfield of 8m). It enables spectators to watch the action while making a circuit of the baseball stadium.
Spectators have a variety of seating choices that provide them with differing perspectives from which to enjoy the dynamic baseball action, including field-level seats, terrace seats, and performance seats.
The seats have the same dimensions as those in a major league baseball stadium, with a width of 50cm and a depth of 85cm, enabling spectators to watch the game in comfort.
The stadium utilizes universal design so that everyone can come and enjoy a game, including people with disabilities, senior citizens, or adults with young children. Facilities include plenty of space for wheelchairs and multi-purpose restrooms for those with medical conditions.
Carp
We have the professional baseball league team, “Hiroshima Toyo Carp”. The team is named "Carp" because the Hiroshima castle is called “Rijo” -“Ri” means carp- and there are many carps in the moat of the castle. The home stadium of Carp "The MAZDA Zoom-Zoom stadium" is near by the Hiroshima station and it is the newest stadium and lots of kinds of seats are unique. The season of the professional baseball league is from spring to autumn, and watching the games can be one of nice activities to visitors too.
